About Port Douglas
Port Douglas is a first class international holiday destination. Just a scenic one hour drive north from Cairns, it is framed by the clear blue waters of the Coral Sea and the Great Barrier Reef on one side, and the verdant green of the World Heritage Rainforest on the other.
The village in Port Douglas boasts great restaurants, sidewalk cafes, boutiques and galleries, along tree-lined streets, historic North Queensland architecture and with the laid back casual atmosphere of a beach-side resort.
As many visitors before you have found, you will need plenty of time to relax and fully sample everything the destination has to offer. Port Douglas is a Tropical Paradise you may never want to leave.

Safe Swimming in Tropical Waters
During the warmer months of November to May marine stingers may be present in tropical waters, but by taking a few simple precautions you can minimise risks associated with these jellyfish.
Lifesavers patrol the beaches for your safety and enjoyment, and we recommend swimming at the patrolled beaches and between the red and yellow flags where the stinger enclosures are located.
